My Review Of: Model Trains For Beginners Vs Model Train Help

Hi, it’s John here…

I know a lot of you out there haven't yet become one of my regular subscribers, so let me give you a little background about myself.

Then I'll give you my recommendation on the best resources for model trains o scale, and all of them, from beginners to advanced model railroaders.

From small beginnings, great things grow. Don't believe me? Well, for almost 30 years, I've been buying, building, collecting, and selling model trains. And it all started with a small Christmas present I got as a kid. It was a Lima HO scale train set. I still have it today, in fact. I loved that trains set more than anything.

Every chance I had, every birthday, Christmas, or any other time where I could get a gift, I was asking for more and more track, rolling stock, kits and more. I'd spend hours at the hobby shop dreaming about all the sets there, and thinking of ways I could raise the money to buy them all!

Jump Ahead 27 Years!

This hobby has provided me with so much fun and entertainment! I almost can't believe it! And this is something I know I'll be doing it forever!

It hasn't been only fun, it's been an entire education in itself. As a kid, I wasn't so interested in school, but little did I know that by working on my hobby, I was getting real hands-on education. I learned about geography and topography by building landscapes. I picked up handy carpentry skills. I got a real insight on electronics and wiring. I developed skills in technical drawing and design. I even learned history (a real snoozer in school) by planning out different aspects of my models and the eras the models were meant to represent. I also got to learn about engineering and making buildings and bridges that don't collapse, not to mention arts and crafts from the different materials and painting of them for modeling landscapes, aging buildings and the rolling stock, and so much more.

Having the chance to create those mini replicas of life introduced me to a whole new world!

Over that 27 year period, my model making took me on a roller coaster of emotions, as you could imagine: frustration, anger, disappointment, and sheer happiness and excitement, but I have to admit, the anger, frustration and disappointment were my own doing, as I had ignored, or just not known, the basics.

But now, I think I own almost every book on model train building that is available.

Every time I wanted to learn how to build a new kind of landscape, to setting up new controllers, or even just to fix a problem... shoot, somewhere I think I have a book that gets into the details of model o scales and how they differ from o gauge (talk about a fine technical detail!).

Here’s The Problem…

You know, these days, with all of the great technology and developments in model trains, like being able to control many trains from a single controller, steam locomotives with real sound and steam, and so many more wonderful details, it is all too easy to make some seriously expensive mistakes!

Believe me, I know first hand.

And that's exactly why several weeks ago (after being asked to do it for about 2 years), I finally decided to review the model train "how to" books that are out there...

What Happened…

To be completely honest, most of the books are not too bad. But a beginner, or maybe even someone who has been modeling for a while, would need at least 5 or 6 of the books on the market to get 80% of the information they really require to do the job right. Or at least that is what I thought until I found two downloadable books - Model Trains For Beginners and Model Train Help.

Of course, I bought them both. And I have to admit, they're pretty much the only two books I look at now. The others are just collecting dust on my bookshelf.

But these books will never collect dust on my bookshelf, in part because they are E-books, and that's the best part! You probably already know that with ebooks, the authors often update their work, and you can get the updates for free. Now compare that with my dusty bookshelf of outdated books! I'll never have that problem with these ebooks!

I felt completely confident buying these books too, since both of the writers offer a 60 day money back guarantee so if the books don't suit your needs, you can ask for a complete refund.

Here’s an Overview of Both…

Model Trains for Beginners

Product Rating (5/5 Stars)

Model Trains for Beginners – is my # 1 choice.

It's the 'must have' ebook for anyone starting out in model trains.

It's rock-solid, top notch information for all model railroad beginners.

You'll find an unbelievable amount of indispensable information in this ebook. Even someone like me who has been doing this almost 30 years has to have a reminder of basics every now and again. I refer to this book almost every day.

This book is chock-full of step-by-step instructions and information that I'm sure you'll be using for your entire train-modeling life!

Model Trains For Beginners tells you everything you need to know from the basic foundations... the jargon and language of model trains, what to do to plan, design and execute layouts that are easy and fun to run and worry free... All the way to advanced techniques used to add a bit of realism to your model like weathering, making your layout appear dated, to controllers and how you can safely and easily work with the wiring, even if you're not an electrician. I could go on, but there's too much more to discuss here!

I would expect to pay a lot more than I did for this information, and with all the books I had bought over they years, I certainly have!

At only US$27, it's a bargain since you'd usually have to buy 4 or 5 books to get the information that Model Trains For Beginners gives you in easy to follow, straight to the point information all in one book.

Model Train Help

Product Rating (5/5 Stars)

Model Trains for Beginners

is the perfect book for beginners, but

Model Train Help is

perfectly suited for intermediate to advanced modelers.

With over 200 pages jam-packed with very concise technical solutions, beginners would be pretty overwhelmed, but the advanced model railroader will be really satisfied with the incredibly informative book. It covers everything including the language of model railroading, planning, design, layouts, and how to make trouble-free easy to run models. This ebook will tell you everything you need to know.

It costs US$39.97, but you'd have to buy 5 or 6 books to get the same amount of information that Model Train Help gives you in one convenient place.

One great aspect I really like about ebooks is that I can print out as much or as little of them as I need, and make notes on them whenever I need to.

The Conclusion…

You know, I used to think I could build my models without using any guide books or resources. I wasted so much time and money making mistakes and having to throw away all my hard work and start from scratch, or feel frustrated and a bit embarrassed that my models looked really amature, and not real at all.

Both of these ebooks give such complete, step-by-step instructions that I would have never had those problems, so they are an absolute "must have" in my view.

I know some people out there will think that they can just browse the internet and find enough free information to answer your quetions and get you on your way... and that's actually true.

What's more, when you subscribe to the newsletter, you'll get a lot of free tips, tricks, and secrets in the weekly email newsletter.

But you know, it's been my experience that with people online, we just want a faster, more convenient route to take.

I personally don't want to spend hours and hours sifting through so much information, not knowing what is truly useful and what is garbage and I'm sure you're the same, right?

The fastest, most convenient way to get all the information you need is simply to buy the ebook. It's great. In less than 2 minutes, after you pay, no matter if it's 2:00 a.m. you'll be reading how to build that dream model railroad! If you don't want to read it on the computer, you can just print off as little or as much as you want and take it where ever you want to read. Talk about convenience!
